Valley Bloom History

Our roots have run deep in the community since 1985.

Valley Bloom has deep roots in Arizona’s East Valley, with a legacy of service that began in 1985.

Founded by a committed group of volunteers, the organization emerged from a simple yet powerful idea: neighbors helping neighbors. Over the decades, that spirit grew into a strong, community-centered nonprofit—one powered entirely by volunteers and grounded in meaningful local impact.

From the start, the organization has focused on identifying unmet needs across Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Ahwatukee.

Working alongside schools, community agencies, and partner organizations…

Volunteers created and sustained programs that offered tangible, timely support—whether that meant providing school clothes, personal care kits, or companionship for older adults.

In 2025, the organization entered an exciting new chapter as Valley Bloom, stepping into full independence while staying true to its mission.

This transition allowed for more flexibility, faster decision-making, and deeper connections with the community. Though the name changed, the heart of the organization remained the same.

As part of this evolution, our programs were refreshed to better reflect both our values and the people we continue to serve today:

  • Valley Bloom Students – Supporting students through school clothes, uniforms, essentials, and scholarships

  • Valley Bloom Cares – Providing personal care kits and support for individuals facing crisis or transition

  • Valley Bloom Enrichment – Offering social connection and joyful experiences for older adults and individuals with disabilities

  • Valley Shares – Collecting and redistributing donated goods to meet urgent and ongoing community needs
