Valley Bloom Roots: Our History
Valley Bloom’s story is rooted in decades of service, community, and care. Explore how our organization has grown and evolved—always guided by a deep commitment to the Valley.
Valley Bloom (Formerly Assistance League East Valley) is proud of its decades-long contributions to Valley neighbors in need.
Valley Bloom has deep roots in Arizona’s Valley, with a legacy of service that began in 1989.
Founded by a committed group of volunteers, the organization emerged from a simple yet powerful idea: neighbors helping neighbors.
Over the decades, that spirit grew into a strong, community-centered nonprofit—one powered entirely by volunteers and grounded in meaningful local impact.
From the start, the organization has focused on identifying unmet needs across Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Ahwatukee.
Working alongside schools, community agencies, and partner organizations…
For over 35 years, volunteers created and sustained programs that offered tangible, timely support—whether that meant providing school clothes, personal care kits, or companionship for older adults.
A New Chapter Begins
In 2025, the organization entered an exciting new chapter as Valley Bloom, stepping into full independence while staying true to its mission.
This transition allowed for more flexibility, faster decision-making, and deeper connections with the community.
Though the name and look changed, the heart of the organization remains the same.
As part of this evolution, our programs were refreshed to better reflect both our values and the people we continue to serve today.
